How We Celebrated Our Anniversary in Quarantine

A week ago, today, Tim and I celebrated our three year anniversary! At first we were both a bit bummed because we couldn’t think of anything special to do while complying with social distancing. Any restaurants are obviously out of the picture and so are any concerts or sporting events. We wanted to spend the day doing literally anything different than our typical Netflix shows. I realized I was going to have to get creative to make the day special.

I began crafting up a plan to clean out our barn and create our own date night! This could really work in any type of garage! It was fun transforming this storage space in my backyard into a romantic, charming table for two.

Its really not that hard to re-create a space like this! If you have a garage or barn like space just start by emptying it out and sweeping. Now to create a more intimate atmosphere: Christmas lights and candles, everywhere. You seriously cannot have enough. They create such fairy-tale lighting.

I set the table with some various outdoor plates, glasses, and silverware but stuck to all blue-hues (to match theAmerican flags we have hanging from each summer spent in our home on Nantucket 🙂 ). Some flowers in a simple mason-jar will also definitely spice-up your the atmosphere. I also hung our college flags on the barn door to personalize the space a little bit.

Last step – order some of our favorite Hibachi (lol full transparency I did not do any cooking) and pop some Prosecco!

We had such a fun night and I really surprised Tim! A silver lining in all of this craziness is that I’ve really let my creative juices flow! But most importantly its helped me realize life is not really about where you are but the people you get to spend time with. Corny but true!

Thanks for reading and happy 3 years Tim (also full transparency again I had to bribe Tim with food to take these pictures) 🙂 xo
