There are two things that I’ve grown increasingly concerned about while shopping recently: shopping small and shopping sustainable.
About the American Rhino Brand
American Rhino is a small business that sells their products out of their store fronts in Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard, and Boston but they also have an online store if you are not located near those areas! They have the most beautiful and well made men’s and women’s clothing and accessories. But the real reason I love this company so much is its dedication to sustainability and conservation.
The owner of American Rhino started this business after spending time in Kenya and falling in love with the land and wildlife there. Over 95% of American Rhino collection are crafted in Kenya and East Africa with manufacturing partners who are also dedicated to social and environmental practice. Also, 10% of all purchases are donated to the American Rhino Foundation which focuses on wildlife conservation in Kenya.
The design of their products reflects spirit of Kenya. Much of American Rhino styles make me think of Out of Africa! But I also love how the brand also has a kind-of beachy feel to it as well!

I will be getting so much use out of this gorgeous handbag this summer. I love how timeless and elegant the shape is of it. The leather is beautiful and 100% cruelty free which makes me feel so much better about using it. I adore the Kikoy (a traditional African textile similar to linen) scarf accent for the summer. It also comes with a long strap which will be perfect for when I am on the go.
I don’t know about you but knowing that I am making a positive impact while shopping always makes me feel so much better about my purchases. It also means so much more to me than having a big brand name. Shopping brands like American Rhino, that are small and sustainable is so important right now so I hope your guys check them out!
