Last week my mom and I went down to D.C. to do some apartment hunting! I start my job in mid-July so I was glad to find a place! It is so exciting for me to announce (if you don’t already know because I talk about how excited I am all the time…) that I will be working for one of my favorite companies!
I accepted a position in April to work for Tuckernuck, which is a fashion and lifestyle brand based in Georgetown. They have one brick and mortar storefront in Georgetown, but are mainly e-commerce! I will be working as a Sample Coordinator- which basically means owning the logistics of samples needed for buyers, photoshoots, editorial requests, website content, and social media! It will give me the opportunity to work with buying, marketing, and creative teams!
I have loved Tuckernuck for several years – my sisters, mom, are HUGE fans for so many reasons. First and foremost, the have beautiful, classic clothing that is always on trend which is hard to find these days! The company’s roots in Nantucket (the founders grew up spending summers there!) also has always attracted me to Tuckernuck. And I adore Tuckernuck’s fun nature- not taking life to seriously. You may have seen, I feature their products on my blog quite frequently!
So… landing this job is an absolute dream come true. I always knew I wanted to work in fashion and had my heart set on NYC for so long- but I have come to realize that it is just not for me, at least for now. Working for a smaller, extremely fast growing company is so exciting to me! And I cannot wait to enjoy the beauty of Georgetown everyday! So excited for Georgetown/ D.C. content, lol!
I feel like so many things are coming together for me after a period of feeling lost and am thrilled for this amazing adventure to come!
This is Tuckernuck’s storefront in Georgetown! You should definitely check it out if you are ever in D.C.!

More to come…
I am planning on doing another post on my job search process and tactics because landing a job in the fashion industry is so different from what majority of my peers at Wake were doing (i.e. consulting, finance jobs). So, lookout for that post or feel free to email me at anytime (anniebculbertson@gmail.com) if you are interested in the industry. If I could help even one person I would be so happy 😊
