Female Collegiate Entrepreneur Highlight: Jewelriri

By Arianna Marciano

I truly admire the girl bosses grinding in college that have started their own small businesses and side hustles. So, I want to highlight some of their amazing work on my blog! I am calling this new series “The Female Collegiate Entrepreneur Highlights.”

Today I want to highlight JewelRiri, a small jewelry company created by Arianna Marciano. Ariana is currently a junior at Babson College and is from Long Island.

A little bit about JewelRiri…

First of all, gold balls are always in. They’re fun but also classic – and that is a combination I can never say no to! And you shouldn’t either! Her bracelets are stackable so you can play around with different combinations of them, which I love!

My favorite stack is this simple, elegant three plain gold ball bracelets along with one gold ball and pearl bracelet. It literally goes with every outfit and pairs well with every other piece of jewelry I have. I love paring it with my red Hermes Clic Clac bracelet for a pop of color on my wrist.

Arianna individually hand makes and designs all of her bracelets and rings, so they are very customizable if you have something particular in mind. Her pieces make for great gifts for your girlfriends because they can be so personalized!

A little bit about JewelRiRi’s beginning…

The idea for JewelRiri was concepted after Arianna’s freshman year at Babson. That summer, for fun, she made herself some beaded bracelets. She found that she was always getting compliments on them and that people would always ask where she got them. Pretty quickly it became evident to her that there was a market for her jewelry. Also, JewelRiri products are now carried in various local boutiques in her home town, Locust Valley, but she primarily sells through her instagram page!

Arianna has always had a passion for fashion and an entrepreneurial spirit. It is so inspiring how she has channeled this energy into JewelRiri. So, it makes sense that one of her favorite things about being an entrepreneur is finding pride and fulfillment.

Advice from Arianna, Female Collegiate Entrepreneur…

1. Find your passion

“Your passion is what will consistently motivate you to grow and improve your business. “

2. Research your market

“Learning about your target market is crucial before starting your own business because in order to be successful you need to attract customers.”

3. Research your suppliers

“Before deciding on a supplier, do your research. It is important to compare prices, quality, quantity, delivery method, and customer reviews of each potential supplier.”

4. Promote your business via social media

“One of the most effective ways to market your product today is by using social media platforms. For example, creating a business Instagram account for your business is a great way to gain a lot of exposure for your business, as it is a media-sharing platform. It is important to utilize all of Instagram’s features, such as followers, likes, tags, hashtags, locations, stories, and comments, in order to optimize your exposure.”

5. Learn from your mistakes as you go

“As your business grows, it is important to continuously refine, tweak and improve the process as you go.”

To wrap things up, Arianna says her “vision was to cultivate high quality jewelry for everyday use at an affordable price.” I can tell you first hand she has truly hit the nail on the head. I love JewelRiri and wish Arianna the best in her entrepreneurial pursuit, she’s doing spectacular things and is an inspiration!
